BlackBerry soon surpassed by iPhone

Apple iPhone is in the track to take over Research In Motion's BlackBerry smart phones in the global market next year, according to Forbes.

Currently, BlackBerry enjoys around three per cent of the global handset market, while Apple has around two per cent market share. But the benefits of the BlackBerry over the iPhone Apple will shrink at the beginning of next year.

"We expect Apple's market share will follow RIM in 2011, and Apple and RIM will each have 11% and 8% market share at the end of the forecast period Trefis,''referred to the report.

Trefis has been defined as a new financial platform to learn how to influence the company's products on its shares.

"We are confident that iPhone sales will eventually exceed the sales of the BlackBerry,''Forbes said.
